Precast core installation – Heap’s Mill
We’re proud to share a major milestone at Heap’s Mill with the installation of the precast core — a crucial step that will enable floor construction, connecting steels, and future internal fit-out works to progress as the building becomes watertight. This marks a significant moment for the entire development, following nearly two years of demolition works, now around 60% complete with only the annexe remaining.
Heap’s Mill is the city’s largest regeneration project and one of the North West’s most ambitious: its Grade II listed 18th-century rice mill, the centrepiece of the development, is being meticulously dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick after sitting vacant for over 25 years and passing through numerous previous developers. Its revival has been made possible by Legacie’s integrated approach as developer, contractor, and manager, ensuring exceptional attention to detail while blending modern living with the building’s historic architecture.
Located between Liverpool’s waterfront and the Baltic Triangle, the development will feature new-build elements that complement the mill’s heritage, and a new public walkway will ultimately connect the site directly to the waterfront — securing Heap’s Mill as a centrepiece of the area’s ongoing regeneration.
